  <p><app>Flash</app> is a <em>plug-in</em> for your web browser that allows
  you to watch videos and use interactive web pages on some websites. Some
  websites won’t work without Flash.</p>

  <p>Flash が必要になるページを閲覧したときに Flash がインストールされていない場合、おそらくその旨のメッセージが表示されます。Flash は、ほとんどのウェブブラウザー向けに無料で (ただしオープンソースではありせん) ダウンロードできます。たいていの Linux ディストリビューションでは、そのソフトウェアインストーラー (パッケージマネージャー) 経由で Flash をインストールできます。</p>

  <p>ほんのわずかですが、Flash のフリーでオープンソースの代替実装が提供されています。これらは、いくつかの点 (たとえば、サウンド再生のハンドリング) においては、Flash プラグインよりも優秀な傾向がありますが、それ以外の点 (たとえば、複雑な Flash ページによっては表示できないなど) では、Flash プラグインよりも劣ります。</p>
