    <para>
      A VCR is old technology used to record a NTSC or PAL 
      analogue television signal to VHS-form magnetic tapes.
      The reproduction quality is generally poor — worse
      than the original signal.

    <title>Troubleshooting</title>
    
    <para>
      The following conditions do not always denote trouble. Therefore,
      perform the checks described below before calling for service.
