Notes on libieee1284 on Windows 95/98/Me ---------------------------------------- Unlike NT, the Windows9X kernel is more lax with its I/O security. We take advantage of this by using 9X the same as Linux port based I/O, just without the ioperm() step. Unfortunately it's still much slower than Linux, partly because cygwin is very slow on 9x kernels. It also means that we're guessing the parallel port base address, so it's not as reliable as ppdev.
